Thanks for the support to everyone who's standing up for the rights with me. In fact, Quigly and a few others, I'm 100% straight. I gotta girlfriend who I love very much. I can still support a movement. Around 700 kids at my school did this yesterday.

I'm waiting for my medicine atm, but when I'm done I'll post the passage our badges state.

I think maybe talking to a gay person and better understanding might help more. Everyone not talking just seems like forced isolationism to me. Which is the problem in the first place.

Well, isn't it just as easy to do this on any other day other than the DoS?

I mean, you have opportunities aplenty to do this in your everyday life.

Anyway, I don't have much of a story. I hung out with friends, did a track meet, went to the Gwinnett Braves' first-ever home game, and slept. Not much to write home about, but no glbt conversations ever came up in my midst. So I think it was pretty easy-going and simple to keep my vow.

I only participated in the Day of Silence since it was an excuse for why I got to use a pad of paper to converse with people. Hilarity ensued.

This type of protest IS totally stupid, I agree. It's just not as effective as, well, an actual protest.

Please understand my reasons for not speaking tea. I am participating in the Day of Silence (DOS), a national youth movement bringing attention to the silence faced my lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their allies. My deliberate silence echoes that silence, which is caused by anti-LGBT bullying, name-calling and harassment. I believe that ending the silence is the first step toward building awareness and making a commitment to address these injustices. Think about the voices you are not hearing today.

I doubt you, or even an entire group of people, are going to be able to stop discrimination of something in this way.

The blacks didn't stop their public discrimination by going around one day of the year and not saying anything on that day, did they? No. They actually did something.
