I'm stuck on Level 8, I've only played with Humans. What I do is build up my mana to about 1,600, then I spam Wizards and every so often a Paladin, and continue with arrows. They've got those guys with huge ass swords that they send out like 6 at a time that always get me.

use your arrows big time. through at least level 12, they're your main weapon. on level 8, i think you can still use dwarves... i forget. get about 2000 mana, then just spam 50+ dwarves. once you hit 9 or 10 though, you have to start spamming paladins.

honestly, that's all you need through about level 14. although if you work for it, and get the angel soldier, you can just spam 1 angel soldier with some paladins (or equivalent) and take down the castle. that works through 15.

soo close to level 35. Merry xmas to all on the east coast. Merry xmas to central in about a half hour, merry xmas mountain time zone in about 1 hr 30 mins, and merry xmas pacific time in about 2 hrs 30 mins.

jon got 38 aces so far, I'm attempting to get the 38th as we speak. This is kinda addictive :/

EDIT: Got 41 aces. Missing 33, 35 and A which are literally impossible to get. Nabb's time is still like 80 seconds less than mine, nfi how. Maybe he shoots and suicides really effectively.

still having trouble with Lord of Hell. this is what I observed:

Ground pounds does not depend on how many guys are on the screen.
Ground pound only happens when Lord of Hell is being attacked directly.
How the hell can I do damage to him without directly attacking?
The F/G special attacks do about 500-1000 damage to him... not nearly enough to be worthwhile.
By doing a method of 1 archangel, 2 dragons, 1 archangel, 2 dragons, repeat... I died with him at 600k health. I started the fight with 24960 health, so I lost out on 1 extra GP.

If there was some way to do ranged damage to him, either from Soldiers, wizards, archers, or cannons.... He wouldn't be that bad. But the fact that (AFAIK?) they all give him health... it doesn't work. So you have to fight him toe-to-toe, but I run out of health with my 1AA/2D method.

Soldiers I am 100% sure give him health.
At least 1 of Cannons/Treboucets give him health. Hard to know if only 1 or both, since I had them together attacking (he was gaining health from at least some of them).

Arrows are worthless, since they can't reach... but even if they did, they'd probably get absobed.

Dude I told you this already -- this is why I said, for instance, that Paladin spamming was a bad idea. Same thing happens when you have huge waves of soldiers. When they get up in his face, he starts getting cranky, and the units don't make it close anyway because they're too busy getting tossed into the air. You have to soften out the number of attackers (my cannons needed to be softened out, I later realized, as they were indeed keeping waves back, but at the expense of healing). That's why I said "slow and steady" wins the race here. The direct damage must be slow. Otherwise, you risk the mega-attack. Cannons AND trebuchets give him health because they are ranged units. The only things that damage him are close-up physical units.

I'll make a video later and show you the proper way to take the ****er down.

from reading the thread on Kong, it would appear that there is a bug in using Human to beat level 18... he ground pounds regardless of # of guys. as i said, he was still ground pounding when i only had 1 or 2 titan angels on the screen.

apparently that doesn't happen when you use elf. i'll try with elf later tonight. and do the video.

I would disagree -- there were many times, as Humans, when he did not ground pound. This was mainly when I was using Titans. When I resorted to using soldiers/paladins, he ground-pounded without much hesitation at all.

i did a run with only titan. there were times i had 1 on the screen at once, and he was still pounding, so long as i was doing direct physical damage. if i wasnt attacking him, he wasn't ground pounding.

going to try with elves still... will plead for help if that attempt doesn't work.
