Default Re: I just dropped a shelf full of Algebra textbooks on my foot.

I either dislocated or broke my left pinky finger on the 7th of this month, on the way back from a family vacation. I was running past the back of our car and hit my hand on the taillight. I looked at my finger and it was bent outward, so I instinctively pushed it back to where it was "supposed" to be, while shocked and vaguely aware that I was in pain. But it was significantly less pain than the last time I'd broken a finger, so my parents thought nothing of it.

Two and a half weeks later, that finger still experiences minor pain, is bent at the first knuckle instead of straight, and the first knuckle and second knuckle aren't "facing" the same direction. Additionally, when I make a fist, my finger faces outward.

I'd asked my parents to call the doctor when this first happened, but they didn't. Now I'm scared I'm going to have a deformed finger the rest of my life ;_;

I fell down the stairs at my sister's dorm and broke my toe last summer. I begged my parents to take me to the emergency room so I could, at the very least, get some high-powered pain killers. Instead they bought some medical tape and taped my broken toe to the rest of my toes to stabilize it (which is what a doctor would have done) and told me to suck it up so we could continue the rest of our vacation. We went on a walking tour of Gettysburg and then went to a horse-riding/hiking lodge. ;_;

I have nerve damage now.
