"everyone has an equal chance" was his exact words. You're saying that level playing ground is broken in some way?

If there is ANYTHING that can turn a tie into a clear win/loss, it is far superior to a bull**** sudden death. If I lost to someone from them beating me in a sudden death, I wouldn't even consider it a loss.

And things like Mr Saturn can only swing matches IF THE PERSON IS ESPECIALLY SKILLFUL (and shouldn't battles be determined by absolute skill?). Even Smash Balls are rather fair in that anyone has a shot at getting it (ie it's not random, literally anyone on the map has a shot at it depending on who can get the necessary hit on it), and in fact, simply getting it requires skill (the skill of outdoing your opponent or stealing the final strike on it). ANNNNNNNNNND if you're truly skillful, there are tons of things which can be done to minimize your opponents effectiveness with their final smash (simply knowing your opponent's moveset well is an effective first step). This isn't like the Hammer where it could appear randomly in front of your opponent who would immediately pick it up and become not only a super power house but also nearly impenetrable. This is an item which gives equal chance to all players on the map.

Sudden death? Why are we even bringing that up? We're playing stock matches. The only way sudden death is possible is through a draw which is extremely rare and has only happened to me once or twice out of the thousands of games i've played in melee.

Temote. That number works because it's my friends. I was at his house for a few days straight so i just went ahead and gave peole that number to play me on.

Ok then how about a stock match where two people are down to 1 stock and both have 200% on them. No matter the outcome of that final stock, I would consider that a tie, since at that point it's just a matter of --gasp-- LUCK on who can land the finishing blow first.
