So Reach, you're saying that if FFR had 50,000 songs of difficulty 9 or higher added tomorrow, it would be remotely reasonable to have tier reqs for every single one of them? Obviously not. You can go to the extreme both ways, ya know.
Of course there's no ABSOLUTELY PERFECT OBJECTIVE system for measuring skill, that's why we try to get the best one possible. My point is that adding a gigantic number of songs to the list only detracts from how much the system measures skill and adds nothing whatsoever to it, because I do not believe it is reasonable to expect an active player to play every new song anymore.
And why, pray tell, can there be no compromise between the two? There is most certainly a large difference accuracy-wise between something like grandtotal-based overall rank and the tier system we have now. Your statement makes no sense at all IMO. No one has ever claimed to try to find an absolutely perfect system, I have no idea why you even brought that up--we merely try to refine it to be as accurate as possible.
