Default ITG: VerTex^2 help

Brace yourselves, I ramble, and I need advice. I've gone further than most, playing no bar, and the only songs on an ITG2 machine I can't clear are VerTex^2 and Summer ~Speedy Mix on Expert. However, VerTex^2 seems like much more of a challenge than summer, but it seems possible. I played it recently, and got to the very end, but I couldn't follow it. Here's why: I can follow all of VerTex^2 on 1x, but I can't seem to avoid the mines in the super stream, or do even somewhat well at the part right after the freeze/hand slowdown. I tried it on 1.5x, and I made it further, I made it to the final speedup. I ended up guessing all the arrows, didn't work out too well. Should I a) Memorize the end of VerTex^2, and play it on 1.5x, or b) Keep trying to get through the mine-filled stream until I get to the end, which I will be able to follow, or if anyone has any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Thanks everyone.
