Default Seeing into the future

I was thinking. If I looked into the future and saw that I was going to be killed in a car wreck, for instance, then I would know to not ride in a car on that day. But if I don't ride in a car on that day, then that wouldn't truly be my future. So you could practically never see the true future because you would change it some how. Something interesting that my brother told me about was that there's a theory that every time we make a decision, the universe splits into two universes, and both of those universes go off in their own directions. Like if I said yes to something, it would make another universe in which I said no. So when I look into the future, I'm seeing the future of me in my current universe, but then I change my decision thereby creating another universe. It's a pretty confusing concept; I can barely comprehend some of it.
