There's speculation that ours may be the last generation that considers it normal to have a lifespan limited by age. Advances in cell regeneration could make death from old age go the same way as death by smallpox or diphtheria.
But is this actually a good idea? Could our societies survive such a development? (I can't help but think there is another post similar to this, so if there is, sorry for posting again)
