Ever had fame come to you from something on the net?

Ok I'm just wondering, has anyone ever been achknowledged in real life for something they have done on the internet? Like let's use Arch0wl for example, everyone who plays Stepmania, DWI, FFR, knows who he is right? If you were lets say in laserquest (only thing I can think of) and it says on the back of your gun, you were shot by "Arch0wl" would you wonder if it was THE Arch0wl and want to meet him? Well anyway, that's an example, so has anyone been achknowleged for being known on the internet?

(In case you're wondering I haven't)
