I can understand why. If you are in charge of operating a multi-million dollar ride that has the possibility to kill a person if they arent strapped in properly, then it'd be wise to make sure your employees arent into mind altering substances.

If you are worried, get a job at a college book store as a student employee where they would prefer that you be drunk/stoned on the job.
