I practice balancing on each foot, then on my hands, then on my head, and then on my left hand and left foot (and vice versa). This way I become increasingly more subconsciously aware of my center of gravity, and I can utilize that to my advantage by positioning my body before certain runs.
Because, of course, being able to balance on your head helps you dance.

I've had a few embarassing DDR moments, none too big. I've failed on my first song a couple of times, which always sucks, especially in front of a crowd. I've slipped and fallen off of the machine a couple of times, but usually get back up quick enough to not fail. It's not been enough to get me mad, or anything. I laugh it off and keep playing.
