one of the saddest things i did irl was i was doing improv in front of the new freshman for a performing arts showcase thing and i called (and therefore made) myself a gorilla. in that context it made sense (it would take a while to tell u why 'cause i would have to explain improv game mechanics) but i was a black woman calling herself gorilla.. in front of hundreds of ppl orz
black people frequently called apes in the past, still described with ape-like features. that's why it didn't sit well w/ the black community lol

it's hard to be uber pc while doing improv i say really inappropriate things but i also have a dark sense of humor
