What is this?

raindrop ARCADE (abbreviated to RDAC) is a freeware music game based on the raindrop engine.
We've just begun production on this project and we have recruited lots of artists from all
over the world, especially from the BMS community. You may recognize some of them have songs
in BEMANI titles including SOUND VOLTEX and pop'n music.

The game will take inspiration from games like beatmania IIDX, DJMAX Trilogy,
plugout ARCADE EDITION and LunaticRave NEXTWAVE -endless music- both in the active gameplay,
but also in the sense that the game will contain plenty of unlockables,
a mission mode and a dan ranking mode.
The playable key modes will be 6K, 7K, 5K+1 and 7K+1. (where +1 indicates turntable lane)

We plan on making this game accessible to newcomers to this genre of games, as
well as having charts to keep veteran players entertained.

FAQ

When will the game release?
We don't know. It depends on how much workload there is, including
chart creation, UI design, programming. Everything.
So far we've only started the project, so it's too early for us to give any estimates.

Where will this be released?
It will be released as a direct download, which you can just download and play.
We also hope to get the game released on Steam via Greenlight.
Both of these options will be completely free.

Will this game be free or freemium?
This game will be 100% free. No freemium models.
No nothing. You will not be able to spend any money on this project even if you wanted to.

Do you plan any DLC?
We're considering it, but no promises.
The only DLC we'll ever release is minor stuff like new songs.
If there's enough demand we may release some bigger DLC.
Yes, the DLC will be free as well.

Will the game have any online functionality?
Yes. We plan on release a new Internet Ranking alongside this project.
Or before. We don't even know this much yet, but it is in development, so there's that.

Can I use this as a plain-old BMS player?
Short answer: Yes.
We will release a stand-alone version of raindrop which only
includes the essentials for playing the game, such as the skins.
