there's quite a bit of content in the piece referenced in the OP, and arch can have a "stream-of-consciousness" type style sometimes.

i think some bullet points you can take away are:

-Whether or not you are smart is not nearly as important as doing something useful or beneficial with your smartness

-Don't limit the content of what you say based on a fear of being perceived as smart; you should care more about whether or not what you say is true

-To supplement the above point, you have access to basically all of the information in the world via the internet. Read, watch, learn, and know the truth of things.

-Besides smartness, you shouldn't worry about other attributes you may think you have or don't have. don't assess your worth compared to others and then be discouraged from actually making yourself better because you didn't stack up to the amazing people you compared yourself against. we can't all be the best person in the world. that's okay. you should still want to make yourself as good as you can be, regardless of that fact.

These are some very admirable and important points in this piece that i agree with, even if i may hypocritically not follow all of them. there are other points in this piece that i haven't attempted to summarize because i don't necessarily agree with them, such as the bit about losing a job and finding a new one. not always that easy for everyone. but yeah
