You'll have that with any fandom though. A good amount of fans aren't into that aspect at all. I mean just because you're a Star Wars fan (as an example -- don't know if you are or not -- if not substitute any other fandom) does that mean you jerk it to pictures of sexy chewbacca?

Obviously I can't speak for everyone, and obviously there will always be some people who take things too far, and yes those people tend to get more attention -- people who legally change their names to character names, or people who "fall in love" with the characters/etc... But I guarantee you most of the rest of the fandom (any fandom) doesn't want to have anything to do with those people anyway.
