The reason why 16th birthdays are "sweet" is because a long time ago, it's when parents would allow their daughters to go on dates with boys. 15, no. 14, no. But at the age of 16 the girls would be allowed to date boys.
It isn't a sweet sixteen for guys. Sorry to burst your bubble, Q, it's just not special for you. Just like quincinera(spelling?) for girls of hispanic heritage. It's a strictly girl-thing. Guys don't have quincineras.
