Sorry but I think the whole "cancer awareness" excuse is bullshit. You don't raise awareness of some health problem just by doing some random thing, you raise it by actually telling people about the problem, and growing a beard doesn't make that any easier. No sane person will look at an unshaven guy in the middle of November and automatically think "oh, it must be for male cancer awareness!" unless they are already completely aware of the issue you're trying to raise. If you do something that actually raises cancer awareness, awesome; if you want to go a month without shaving, also awesome. But don't lie to yourself that they are somehow the same thing.
