Some reviews. I'm skipping around a bit because I don't have any headphones yet. It's harder to hear the songs. Favorites are bolded.
A Castle Under Siege - I love Norrin Radd. Hard file. By the way is Dentrimentalist Roar or a new author all together? Solid file but its layering could of been made cleaner. Very fun play. 7/10 A Shadow in a Blue Sky - I felt like there was way too many difficulty spikes all over this. The song itself is fantastic though. Fun as well but I can't see any replay value. 6/10 ALL MY TURN - Very hard but its expected from Roar. Cool file though with a lot of replay value. The generic straightforward approach to files may not be the most original thing but it plays great with IIDX songs in my opinion. 8/10 Burning Halloween Town - I enjoyed this a lot. I played heavy, it flowed well mostly. Felt a little bunched up at parts but it was still fun. 7/10 Car Sax - Definitely one of moches' unique files. It played in a weird way but it flowed very well. Reminded me a little of Stargroup's Jungle. Good MA file. 8.5/10 Confidence in the DOMINATION - Played this a while ago. Its somewhere on my Stepmania actually. It's a smooth file though (yes, smooth). Another good MA file but not as replayable in my opinion. 7.5/10 Digital Love - Wow, I had my doubts playing this. Trogdor, you've improved a lot from what I remember. This file was very, very fun and had a good amount of replay value. Layered well and the colored notes were fun to hit. 9/10 Ferris Wheel - Another simple but effective MA file. It's fun too and layered very nice and clean. 8/10 Finders Keepers - This was cool and flowed pretty cool. Steady difficulty throughout and maintained a fun factor that made the file stay fun and never get too hard where it was out of the difficulty range it started with. 8.5/10 GALAXY FOREST 11.6&12 - Definitely one of the strangest songs I've ever listened to. This was fun too. Not much to say from me really but it's definitely something I'd play again for the MA. 7.5/10 Hero - I felt making the notes green for the vocals was a little unnecessary in this file but it does make it feel different. Good file, I liked this a lot too because of the simplicity from Kommisar to the change in the colored notes in GD. It's different. I played heavy by the way. 9/10 I Love(Orange Things) - So glad to see a restep for this song. It was one of my favorite files to play in the older packs. The restep was much, much better than the original and plays much better. Very fun and something I'd play again. 8.5/10 Love Is Orange - I've mentioned this on KBO already. It plays similar to Toph's file but not entirely. It is fun though. 7.5/10 MARIA&JOKER - A very nice file that had nice freezes in it with some mine usage. I liked it a lot actually. 8/10 Miles - Lives up to what I've seen about it in the thread in my opinion. It has the same stepping style Puppet generally does, I won't get into details but thats a good thing. 9/10 Never Fade Away - IIDX file again. It's cool though. Not exactly the type of file I was expecting from the song choice but fun. 7.5/10 Rainbow Tylenol - So much fun too. Not the type of song choice I was expecting from Baq but it was overall nothing wrong with it from what I played. 8/10 Scott Pilgrim's Theme - Felt generic but in the bad way. It was fun for the first playthrough but I see nothing else about it that stuck out. The song is very catchy though. 6/10 Snow Fox - Eh, felt really pushed together. I liked the song as well. The layering felt so tight and it wasn't very fun to play. 6/10 Whatever I skipped over I'll come back to later in a new post probably. Overall an enjoyable and pack worth saving onto Stepmania so far. |
