It's been a long time in the making, lemme tell you that. I've been close for a long time, but I never actually made it all the way until now. Every time, I'd get blocked on a song, or a song would stop unlocking the token at all, or I'd stop playing and lose skill. It's been a long journey, so this is gonna be a long topic.

A little timeline:

August 17, 2008 - first VC AAA. Yep, it took about 2.5 years to go up a difficulty...

March 2, 2009 - blackflagged Southern Cross. This was an FMO at the time.

April 28, 2009 - blackflagged Novo Mundo. Still got this sitting in my levelranks...

June 17, 2009 - 1-0-0-1 on K8107 (also FMO at the time). This is my third FMO blackflag.

June 18, 2009 - blackflagged None Would Escape (FMO at the time). Come on...

June 2009 (ish) - Oni is redone to be harder, and it's now well out of my reach.

July 26, 2009 - booflagged Sympathizer, which used to unlock Oni. But it doesn't anymore, so I don't keep trying.

October 27, 2009 - AAA'd Balloon Fever, too bad it doesn't unlock Oni anymore.

November 26, 2009 - Finally AAA'd None Would Escape. But of course this isn't FMO anymore, and it also doesn't unlock Oni.

November 29, 2009 - AAA'd another ex-FMO / ex-Oni unlock (Silence).

...and then FFR died. I played some SM and offline FFR, but I lost a lot of my FFR skill.

February 4, 2011 - In a complete surprise, blackflagged Kanon Medley. Looks like I'm starting to get my PA back...

April 12, 2011 - Had a great day: blackflagged Jeanie and Caroline, and also got 2 goods on EHHS and Rottel. I could feel it! I was getting close!

Later that day - Blackflagged Arrogant Cobbler. At this point I knew I could get some FMO done, just didn't know which...

And then...

I had played Battle Theme #37 a few times earlier today to check out the patterns, and I was certain I could AAA on a good day - the only tricky part was the minijacks. I had something like 6 goods on it, but that was a pretty old score.

So... I went out to dinner, came back, and decided to give it a few tries, just in case I got lucky. First I played it once without mirror and it kind of fell apart at the end, so I turned it on to get the left minijack out of the way first. Second try...
