Good ol' China...
omg so I heard on the radio today that they're banning art that involves time-travel. To hear what they are banning, in general, for art, to just be banning time-travel stories is nothing. What I got was that basically any art that wasn't realistic, wasn't happy, and which wasn't pushing values they wanted on people, was going to be banned. I know China has a lot of bans on things, but come ON. You're telling people that they can't share imagination now. I guess if whoever the **** that crazy woman who wrote that crazy post about parenting (other thread here) were running China, I guess I can understand it. But does the notion of freedom mean anything?
Its scary though...its like they're slowly brainwashing the entire country. Its like what crazy mcpsychopath in North Korea wants for his country, except China's doing a better, slower job of it. Gah, who's in charge, who would make that decision? Why is this being allowed, and why do people accept this? Its scary though, because I can see how people have to accept it, because the already existing laws in China mean that any dissent or even discussion about how the country's run just isn't allowed. How much farther are they going to push this? The radio said that they're specifically banning shows that the public enjoys on a fairly large scale, like Dr. Who and some other one I can't remember. Can I actually do anything about this? Can I help at all? |
