After all that, I had Avast! Antivirus for a long time. It worked well, but really only caught about 2 viruses the entire time it was in use. And so Avast! decides to do exactly what Norton did - Make my computer so secure that I can't use the Internet! Whenever the on-access protection was on in the last 2 days, I couldn't load a page past a very small amount. I'd get the top tables and some images and then it'd just STOP. Of course, like last time, I could ping and all that jazz. I even played my MMORPG. So folks with Avast!, look out for this problem. Now, since I've disabled Avast! On-access protection and it's still coming up, any ideas of how to disable it (again, for reals) so I don't have to use TCPView to remove the network connections it starts without my knowing? ~Squeek |
