Should drugs be illegal?

Something I've noticed with me is I've become more adverse to alcohol being legal since being pregnant. I remember on the night before Halloween I had to pick AJ up from work at midnight and all I could think was man I really hope there's no drunks on the road from Halloween parties.

If people could be responsible there would be no issues with alcohol or marijuana even because in moderation it's not that bad. But I mean how can we stop the abusers that ruin it for others? The laws being in place obviously don't work because people do it anyway.
