Good game developers make good games that are fun to play. Programmers have to worry about the complexity of the platform they are developing on. Producers have to worry about their audience. When porting a game to another console like the PS3, they need to make sure more than just a handful of people will buy the game. A lot of time, effort, and money is needed to hire a staff who can code on the PS3 or train their programmers how to. Not only that, some companies enjoy putting deadlines and if programmers are rushed on these type of things, mistakes and design flaws may happen and just not get fixed. That's why we have bad ports.
It may not seem fair sometime, but people do have opinions and biases. For example, if the Valve team simply does hate the PS3 and that's why it doesn't want to port a game to it, then that's just too bad. There really is little you can do about that. You can't force them to make a port because your words are little incentive. Just deal with it and play the game on the much easily accessible PC. ~Tsugomaru
