Also, it's kind of hard to walk the line of using PR and using variety. Inevitably, if I use variety, then people are like 'omg not enuf PR try again', and then when I step the same sounds the same way (as PR would dictate, I believe), then people say I need more variety.

I'm reasonably sure this is when you can play around with the layering a bit. Neglect to layer something in one section and then layer it in if it repeats sort of thing. Closest at hand for me is my satanic dance file. I layered stuff in at m31 that was also at m27 but I didn't put it in at that point. If you dl it, what I'm trying to say will probably become a bit clearer.

There are probably other better examples, but that was the one that came to mind first.
