Default Canadian Federal Election '08 - Who Should Win?

Yeah, I know a lot of people aren't in to Canadian Politics, so if you didn't know, they just kicked off an election for what party should be the "winning" or "leading" one, and who should be the prime minister.

It's between the Green Party, the Liberal Party, the Conservative Party, the Bloc Quebecois and the NDP (National Democratic Party). More info on the parties: Party Information.

A main site for Federal Election Coverage: Federal Election Coverage.

Public Opinion Polls on who is projected to have the most percentage by different companies: Projected Percentages.

So basically, we're having an election. That was all the information.

In my opinion, I think that the Liberal Party should not win this year, because their leader (Stephane Dion) wants to impose carbon taxes, which tax you for your carbon dioxide consumption. This may seem like a good thing in terms on environment, which it could prove to be, but if this is implemented, our economy would suffer a big hit, because people who want to open businesses do not want to have to pay ANOTHER tax, along with the PST and GST (Provincial and Government Service Taxes). This will cause less companies opening, more closing, and more disgruntled citizens of this country called Canada. This tax would affect everyone that is living here that has to pay them. There will most probably be big issues on this and lead to worse things. This can all stop if Dion and the Liberals are not elected.

So now, the choice. Who do I think should be the leading party? Well, it's kind of split down the middle. In my opinion, I don't think the Green Party should get it, because, well, just no. So it comes down to the already elected Conservatives, and the NDP. This is where I can't decide. They both have great standpoints, and great leaders. I'm just not sure which should win. Even though I can't vote yet, I'd say one of these would be the best choice for a candidate.

What do you think? Post your opinions here.
