Default Mp3 conversion problems.

Well, I'm trying to narrow this problem down: Are there issues (along with solutions) to converting certain files to mp3's, or does my computer simply suck at mp3 conversions?

What essentially happens is that in some of my self-made mp3 files, I'll hear a weird clicking noise in even some of the quietest parts of my tracks. I used to think that it was certain instruments I used, but it began to show in other tracks as well, while many other mp3s are clean as a whistle. This particularly happens on jumpstyle songs, which, if anyone knows me, is a huge blow to my morale.

I use FL Studio 7 and Audacity for my finalizing and I have a CreAtive Sound Blaster X-Fi sound card. Is anyone else experiencing problems such as my own?
