After eons of evolution, the progress to the "civilized" world we live in today, why is it that we can't get along as a species? We're all driven by our own personal desires, goals that some of us would step on others to get.
Let's face it, humanity is selfish, short-sighted, and an environmental disaster. But what links us together? While other animals unite and work together, humans would rather not. In fact, the only time we ever work with each other is when a war breaks out. Our lust for personal gain is only bested by our lust to destroy each other in order to acheive these goals. The only thing that brings us together as a species is killing each other. Why is it that a species given the opportunity to think and develop can only destroy?
