Note to all who want to post in the CT forum

I've become rather disheartened upon hearing that people avoid the Critical Thinking forum because the other people are so opinionated that nobody's going to change their mind.

People, this is a forum. A forum is a public place where people gather to discuss ideas and debate things.

This forum exists because people were looking for intelligent discussion and debate with others like them, and that's what goes on here. The fun that we of the CT forum seek is that of debate and discussion; we aren't trying to mold your mind or tell you one way is right. Such a task is often futile, so it's disregarded in favor of having friendly discussion.

This is a friendly forum, which means your views and opinions will be ultimatelyrespected here. That means that, despite what is said in the spirit of debate, as the thread dies we all walk away friends, ready for the next controversial issue. It may be that harsh words get thrown about in heated debate, but it's all in good fun and for the sake of argument. No enemies are made here.

With that said, I hope fewer people are afraid to come in and defend their claims, for we all benefit from doing so.
