One week to go; it's go time.
To sum it up, the festivities will begin on Friday, with an FFR-only super special meet-up of epic proportions in Ann Arbor, MI, which is roughly 45 minutes from Bowling Green, OH. The main gathering place will be at the arcade Pinball Pete's: 1214 S University Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48104 (734) 213-2502 To those driving in, there is a huge parking garage behind the building Pinball Pete's is located, so I recommend parking there (80 cents an hour). I will be heading out to Ann Arbor sometime midday (5-ish o' clock) and will have my cell phone on me. For those driving out, you will need to PM me to receive my number as I won't post it here. I usually don't use my phone a lot, so if you need to contact me for some reason before this, you should message me and let me know. When you PM me, please include your phone number too. On Friday, most likely, I will be heading back to Bowling Green around midnight to 1 a.m. On Saturday, the event will be held at Olscamp Hall on the campus of Bowling Green State University. Bowling Green State University (http://go2.bgsu.edu/choose/visit/directions/) Olscamp Hall is located on Ridge Street, which is an on-campus road. The main road of the city, Wooster St., runs through the entire city and as long as you hit this road, you will at some time in Bowling Green see a huge college (BGSU). From Wooster, you will need to turn onto a road named Mercer and drive until you see Ridge Street. Ridge Street dead ends and Olscamp Hall is one of the final buildings on the left before the dead end. I will be arriving at 8 a.m. in order to set up our area and assist other people who are there as well. This year, per new regulations, all video game/computer-related exhibits are on the second floor. While I would prefer the first floor, this gives us a lounge area to ourselves and provides a bigger room with better ventilation. We will also have access to storage rooms and an elevator. As soon as I receive a solid room number, I will post that information. However, we will be printing signs to direct people through the building to the room. This year, I have agreed to set up two panels that involves the site at the event. I will be hosting a panel based on anime video games and a second panel will involve the site directly, so I will be away from the room for a duration of two hours sometime during Animarathon. We will also plan on holding a number of events live on the site, so be prepared to promote the site ![]() As far as staff members being present, I haven't received a response from anyone else, so at this time, unfortunately, plan on myself being the only the admin present at the event. I know this will sadden a lot of you and cause you to not come anymore, but there is nothing I can really do in light of this T_T I hope you change your mind, though. I don't bite hard and once you get to know me, you'll be at least 10% less scared of me, I promise. As far as side notes for members traveling into Ohio: * The time zone is EST, so be prepared to adjust for time if necessary. * The climate here is crazy, so pack for both light and heavy wear. It can literally can be 50 degrees one day and snowing the next, so plan ahead. * Ohio speed limits are lower than almost every other state, so be careful. With Ohio laws, also, smoking is not allowed even near the outside of a building. If you smoke, basically, you are not allowed to do it in public. Make sure you read any available signs if you should need to smoke. * Make sure your parents know where you are if this applies. The site or its staff takes no responsibility whatsoever for anyone's actions during the course of the event and by attending, you agree to that. If I think of any other information I will update and please feel free to post any questions. Thanks for the support thus far and I hope to see everyone in one week.
