Default Guess what else happened on my three-year anniversary!

Someone broke into my house! How cool is that!

One of my roommates and I were an hour and a half away visiting our boys, our other roommate had decided to spend the night at her boyfriend's apartment, deadbolted the door, and left through the garage. The deadbolt served no purpose other than to tear up our wall when the thieves kicked in the door.

They took:
*My roommate Amber's flat screen TV
*My roommate Chanel's brand new Wii, along with all her games (including *Mario Party 8) -- they either dropped or didn't notice her Wii remote with the tie-dye cover, because I found it under a couch
*Chanel's PS2
*My DVD player
*Amber's DVD player
*All the DVDs that were visible (the ones they stole were on a metal stand, we had others inside our entertainment center), including Futurama Season 1, all my anime (I didn't have much on DVD, but I liked what I had), Amelie, Run Lola Run, Be Cool, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid (two copies), Peter Pan, The Secret of Nimh
*One of my pillowcases to carry all the DVDs, even though I had some large empty shopping bags in my room they could have used.
*All our remote controls
*Chanel's pillows

Then I guess they got hungry, because they went through the fridge, and when they discovered there was only one Dr Pepper, they left it on the counter. Then apparently one of them wrote out "We are here to take a TV" with our magnetic poetry. The cops didn't find fingerprints on the can, but we didn't notice the magnets until after the cops were gone, so we're going to call them back and let them know, in hopes that whoever did it had to take off his gloves to manipulate the tiny magnets.

They did not take:
*My big TV, presumably because it weighs about as much as I do
*Andy's 13-inch TV in my room
*Chanel's diamond jewelry laid in plain sight in her room, although they ransacked her bedroom but not mine or Amber's
*Amber's laptop or checkbook, out on her desk
*My checkbook, in my desk drawer
*Chanel's dog, who she'd left in his crate in her room. He cost $1500. All the thieves did was throw his crate in Chanel's bathroom while they went through her room
*Chanel's TV

They also broke into our neighbor's house, and we guess they hit those girls first, because some little bag that is not ours wound up in our house. It either belongs to our neighbors or to one of the thieves.

I mean, we can't be terribly upset because we are all okay, and the things they took are replaceable. We are definitely mad that our things are gone, but we have to think about what's important.

So, yeah, that blows.
