that there's a golden ratio, and it's the mathmatical equivalent to the meaning of life. i saw a movie on IFC called Pi about a mathmatician that found the golden ratio, and saw it everywhere. eventually it was linked to the jewish beliefs, and the words of god on the torah.
any thoughts? anyone else seen this movie? its possible there's a very simple number that's the golden ratio for everything in the universe, then after figuring that out, we could go further and find out things about the existence of such a god that would begin from that number. it's a bit weird, yeah, thinking that everything could relate to just one number, but that's what a ratio does. it relates. btw... in the end of the movie, it drives him insane searching for the meaning to life through the number, and he uses a power drill to kill himself in the bathroom. least... i think he kills himself. the next scene is him sitting on a bench doing math tables with a little girl, then the camera looks up and focuses from the leaves going up and down with the wind, to the sky. |
