First off, 2+2!=4 if you don't believe it does.

Sure, it seems like a common fact, but consider that to many people, God is just as simple a truth (in terms of existence) as that simple addition problem. Yet by the same token that people can disbelieve what so many others believe to be true with respect to God, someone could disbelieve that 2+2=4. And you know what? If their mind was set on it, and truly did believe it, no one would be able to prove to that person that they were wrong.

Therefore, it seems that truth, and beauty, is firstly the right of an individual to determine, yet that individual may be swayed by other people's thoughts to the point where what is considered true and what is considered beautiful is really only the majority opinion. I think you can all see the paralells to the fashion industry there.
