You thought I was a GUY?!

This is not about time travel in the literal sense of the word. This is about time zones. (I thought of this when going to NY.)
If you have a 5 hour flight from CA to NY, you get there 8 hours later. If you have a 5 hour flight from NY to CA, you get there 2 hours later. **This is because you have to make the 3 hour change in time zones. This is at 600 MPH. At 1000 MPH, the flight would be 3 hours long, meaning no time (relative to the the sun positioning to the earth) passed. -->If you went at 2000 MPH, you would gain an hour in the day for every hour you spent. (This all catches up to you when you pass the international dateline though, so it is only temporary.) The sun would actually go backwards though. -->Because you are going faster than the rotation of the earth, the sun would actually backwards. You could watch dawn or a sunset in reverse. The sun would go from west to east. The sunset would happen, then it would be day, and then dawn would start the night. Talk about some serious jetlag. |
