How do you covince an athiest or even a Nihilist (the actual philosphy, not the idiotic misconception most people have) not to kill themselves. I personally think there's no argument against it. Unless you can convince them by playing on their own inculcated beleifs, there is no real injustification in killing yourself. I just satisfy myself with the pre-meditated ideal that life is going to have it's ups and downs and I might as well live it through for the ups. Shakespear said in Hamlet that we are afraid to kill ourselves, no matter what we beleive, because of the fundamental uncertainty that comes with death. This is a rather bleak topic. Anyways, what do other people think about all this. ...Or would you rather not?
