And to everyone who doubted me a while ago when I said there would be another arcade release, ha.
This shouldn't suck since they are seriously thinking about the competition they are getting from roxor. Hopefully they will make 1. good stepfiles combined with 2. a good song list

Cutriss from DDRFreak has acknowledged that, no matter how he put it, Dancing Stage Fusion pretty much sucked. He said that Super Nova will not be anything like that, and definitely will not be a disappointment. I'm really not sure what to expect, though because Konami is gearing this mix to the U.S. The Dancing Stage series was never really any good, and it was UK-only. DDR USA wasn't spectacular, but then again, the game as a whole was in its infancy. We'll just have to wait and see, I guess.

I hope that this doesn't turn out like DDR USA mix. I guess we have to wait and see. Keep us updated nforcer!

Konami's only doing this because ITG is taking up too much of their marketing share in the USA. Japan couldn't care less about DDR at this point.

I'll keep you updated as I notice new information. Unfortunately, not much is really being discussed on DDRFreak as of now (as usual). It's turned into n00bs saying, "Oh, yay!" and Cutriss and Arch0wl arguing about DDR and ITG. Nothing new has really surfaced. There's nothing on Konami's site to suggest that this is in development. If this is a really early April Fools joke for DDRFreak... well, let's not think about that =P

            EDIT: New info on BMS.

Konami Corporation of Europe BV (KCOE) are proud to present the latest manifestation of the Dancing Stage / DDR machines – Dancing Stage SuperNOVA (European title).

ATEI 2006 (Jan 24th to 26th 2006 in Earls Court, London) is the fist place in the World that anyone will see the game. The game on show will be approx. 75 percent complete. It will be launched later in the year through the KCOE European distributor network.

We have listened to player’s feedback and included points where possible, to be able to create a product that we feel offers something for everyone, whether a hardcore player or a new player.

At this time the only information I can give you about the machine is:

            • The game is a Global version (not regionally specific, therefore US and EU are the same versions).
            • There will be a huge track list on it (at this time we are speaking to music licensors therefore the list is not complete).
            • There are new modes and game play.

As the name suggests this is going to be big!!!!

Please try to come to ATEI to sample the game and let me know your thoughts and opinions on it.

After the show we are planning on testing the machines in Europe although the locations of the test have not been finalised at this time. I will try to update you all ASAP.

            Best regards

            James

This is apparently an announcement of both Dancing Stage SuperNOVA and DDR SuperNOVA. Okay, so it's a Dancing Stage, too. Now I'm officially scared.

Why? All that means is that it's coming out in Europe.

All the arcade games in the Dancing Stage series were horrible. Konami secured licenses to a bunch of crappy songs for the series (Aaron's Party? What were they thinking?). Fusion I heard was pretty bad, too, though I never really saw a song list. If Konami is gearing SuperNOVA in the same way they did the Dancing Stage games, we're in for a really bad mix.

I think Fusion had only 16 songs, and the only 10 footer was Paranoia Survivor. If DDR SuperNOVA is better than EXTREME was, then it probably has all the songs. Or maybe just a few more. Extreme for the ps2 in Japan had more songs than the arcade version I think. Or maybe it's just because it had Max.(Period)

Though, my hopes are pretty high for this game. If Konami has realized that having hardcore charts isn't necessarily a bad thing, I think we might see a little -Respect- action. =) And that would make me very, very happy.

ok, i have no idea WHAT I was thinking of when I said 16, cuz it has 49. my bad. I don't like the bg in Paranoia Respect. New game modes...If they are like survival and combo challenge in Ex2, I suppose it won't be THAT bad, but then, good people could play forever, so maybe not.

Well, a survival mode would have to be like ITG, where you'd have a set of about 5 songs and a timer, getting extra time for, in DDR's case, a "marvelous". A combo challenge would be unnecessary if they allow memory sticks like ITG, so you can build your combo across plays.

That's what I think. Yet, I'm not sure what Konami really has in mind and what they are capable of. And by that I mean, coming up with something really good, or screwing the whole game up.

One of the testing locations for DDR SuperNOVA may be in Chicago. This is because one of Betson's offices is located in that area. I'll keep you posted if I find more info on testing locations.
