Asians good at video games = stereotype?

I AM asian and the only things I notice myself to be better then my friends at are DDR (but i have friends who are WAY older then me, who are obviously better, I'm tlaking about MY age here) I can kick their ass at super smash brothers melee, and Tetris is like pssssssht easy. But yeah when it comes to fighting games, racing games, I get my buttox kicked in return. It's just all about what you play more often.

My only asian friends pwn me at video games. Then again, that's like 5 hours of their life during school, more like 14 hours of their life during summer. They level up crazy amounts in RPGs and beat all the bosses on the first try

k... The best stepmania players 95 percent aren't asian (except linus :P).
The best ddr players... most are actually non-asian besides Yasu/Take... there are several at or above that level. Pickles, Bemaniac, JSB, etc.
In most Bemani the best players aren't actually asian.

In general gaming there might be more asian players on AVERAGE that are good but that's just cause they play more (no offence).

Typically they do. Japanese people do, at least. I noticed this while in Japan. Except for this one classroom in a school where EVERYONE EXCEPT TWO KIDS were asleep and the teacher was still teaching and not caring. Holy crap that was hilarious.

A generalization about any group of people that doesn't necessarily apply to every single one of them is a stereotype by defenition.

So yes, "All asians are good at video games" would be a stereotype.
