Even if they have your IP address they can't find out where you live that easily. My IP address shows a mask that says I'm in ohio or something.

Well, I guess I can explain lurking. It has nothing to do with acceptance or anything like that.

1) Information. This doesnt really apply to FFR, but if you wanted to learn something, the best place would be to go to the forum. God knows I check forums every other day just to see if a patch or mod came out.

2) Interest. Suprisingly enough, the vast majority or forums are filled with idiots, trolls, and power-tripping mods. If a place doesnt look interesting, why the hell should you join? The best place to see an example of this is http://www.shoryuken.com

Would you want to join that? No. Would you read it? HELL YES.

3) Time. Some places just arent worth your time. Maybe once a week it is, but most of the time it's boring and slow.

These factors determine whether you want to become a regular or not. Regs are the lifeblood of the forum. (but that's a whole different topic)

I'm sure somebody with more experience could explain it better (synth?).

p.s. Because you all cant understand lurking, you just become n00bs in my eyes.
