Yes, I get to wallow in the mire of mediocrity!

EDIT: Okay, so that only applies to this page.

I apparently never made a list, so here it is. My qualifications for "best" are "who makes sims I like the most" so don't bother aruging with any of these placements because you'll be wrong.

1. Ren - I have not played a single file of his that I did not enjoy (this includes Cynic). Not one. ACT was gorgeous. bbblow was gorgeous. Petrification and HIGH were blasts.

2. Myself - What can I say? I know what I like. Daisuke, V1, Wake Up Angel, Princess Bride and Gleam in the Dark are all <3.

3. Arch0wl - Absolute v2 is my all-time favorite simfile that wasn't made by me, and he comes with a very solid lineup behind it.

4. Reach - Air is my second all-time favorite etc etc etc. A pox on thee for Reality though.

5. aperson - The only reason I'm still remotely interested in StepMania because he uses the only real remaining challenge for me - mines. And Attack is a highly underrated song.

6. Toph - He's made a plethora of fun sims to great songs, but major loss of brownie points for General Bullshit and Talim. Sorry.

7. Mwerp - ViTA stuck me on the one-handed map. >_>

8. CStarFlare - Please Don't Go is solid enough to land him here on its own.

9. Cynic - Kind of hit or miss. Depends on the patterns he uses. LAB is probably my favorite here.

10. pfx13AE - I owe you for Lawn Wake IV and Reversing Darts, but you owe me for Geeks coup de tat (+ necessary accent markings). Other works are eh since you work in a genre of music that doesn't really appeal to me.

3. skor - rhapsody songs eh, but some of his other song are great
4. Kilga. Not many people posted about Kilga. But awesome files. Daisuke, Flash In the Night ++++
5. Arch0wl. Some are bad, some are good.
6. DTM. fun.
7. HST - Everytime, awesome

Here's a little info on what I'm going to do when this topic has been open for one full year.

I'm going to go through every post, and find the most popular simfiles, artists and such. Then I'll find every place that certain simfile is hosted at, and post links to it. If the simfile has no link, I'll find a way to host it.

As for artists, for now I'm just thinking of creating a folder banner for these people.

If we're short of popular simfiles or something, I'll do my best to choose the best in my opinion.

Voting will end December 20th, links will be up December 25th, Christmas Day.

-joe-'s files get really boring, he makes them all pretty much the same way. As far as artists who have a strong, varied collection of sims, I'd say:

1. Duk (loved UGS, Scorpion Fire; he makes a lot of sims, and the quality is consistently high)
2. Reach (loved Air and Tokyo Style Speedcore; admire him most for his use of 32nds, lol)
3. Skor (loved P8107 and Karma, rest of his stuff is good too)
4. Ren (I'd rate higher, but sone of his stuff is too easy. Loved high)
5. Pfx (Lawn Wakes are cool, lol, and the other stuff's good too)
6. Arch0wl (when the song is repetitive, the stepfile sucks, but if he gets a good song the steps rock)
7. Cynic (some stuff is great, some stuff is just annoying - love some, hate others)
8. Kilga (I only rate him this low because his stuff's too hard for me too, lol, it's really pretty good)
9. Toph (quality varies, and most of the Oni steps are still too hard for me XD)
10. aperson (Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing and Attack were cool, but that's about it)

The order's not so solid, and I'd fit Eggman in there somewhere if he would innovate with his patterns a little more. Don't really have enough sims from Hayden, HST, Fooby, Moogy, or Mwerp to say much about them.

Might as well get a say in this. XD

1. Toph - Somebody Like You, Bring Her Down, %10, Scorpion Fire, Tamayura (DM Version), the list goes on and on. Way too much goodness.
2. DTM - Doomsday Zone, Cradle, and Gang Probed are some of my favorite files ever.
3. aperson - Best song choice ever. I'm also a huge fan of the steps for Way of the Samurai and Left and Never Came Back.
4. Reach - Demon Princess and GO!!. Air was my favorite file way back when I was a complete newbie, but it (among other things *cough*%%*cough*Maximizer*) is WAY overplayed on SMO.
5. DukAmok - I really only like the stuff he's done that nobody has. Concertino in Blue, Estella, Presto, and Heaven is a Place on Earth are some of my favorite files, though.
6. Phynn - Not very prolific, but all his stuff wins. Especially To Cure a Weakling Child.
7. pfx - Aah, Dast Ist Musik. Reversing Darts. Gurew. Yeah.
8. Eggman - Wouldn't have even been on this list if it weren't for his recent (read: Harder) stuff. GREEN EYES is just great.
9. iPatch - Not entirely sure about this one, but Desks Pencils Bottles and I Love (Orange Things) are like sex.

10. BlueMystic - This is kind of a filler spot, but it only took Spica (Another) to win me over.

Hayden or HST would probably be 11th. Just because.

1. neo max- Im not sure who made it because the site i downloaded it from(bemanistyle) i guess no longer has it but this is the one i mean

That in my opinion is the only neomax simfile that they should let exist and makes all the rest of the neomax files look STUPID.

PS- not the one from stepmania.com thats just crap.
The one i have has a 914 full combo

Its the best music, best steps, great bpm changes, just the best.

I would like to request a new category: best use of bpm change and freeze. One song I have in mind is ddrace's Composer. I'd never use a C mod on that, the bpm changes are just so powerful. Just a suggestion.
