Double Credits.... Should it comeback?

I understand it is out of our control, but I'm trying to speak on the possibilities of more such events, and how there could be a massive benefit to the site, and community, in case these things are not yet apparent to you, or all of the staff.

Credits are something that has been discussed time and time again. It's not like any of this is news. There's no logical reason to flood more credits into the system and up requirements of things. It may as well stay the same then. As is it's been discussed many times about turning secret songs into grandtotal based unlocks rather than credits because it really makes little sense to have people holding on to a ton of credits.

Now you see, I heard NOTHING of this grandtotal concept, that is actually fantastic! My initial post was a little less thought out, and again a joke, the permanent thing and doubling stuff is obviously silly, but I'm now getting onto the subject of new content, and how 2x credits may give people a larger head start, bringing more people in at the start to aquaint them to new content, as well as in the end just having more content in general.

What massive benefit to the site? I don't see how flooding more credits into a system that has a ton has any benefit. I wish I could remember the exact number that are in the system right now because it's ridiculous. As per events I've been running regular events as well as my events team. All of these events offer credit prizes and some have even had participation credit prizes as well. We also do all sorts of things to cater to all different people, it's not as if they're only FFR skill related events. So there are opportunities to gain more credits frequently.

It's been brought up several times. People starting out face a huge mountain to climb when it comes to credits for content as is. It doesn't make sense to end up making the credit issue worse by making the credits x2 and have the people who are up there already and play the most gaining even more credits and making us have to put up more stuff to get them out. Plus as I mentioned the 40 credit cap was lifted so that's already allowing people to gain more in a play than before.

I said in my initial post about the x2 thing that maybe I could see it happening for an event but I mean scarcely. Like maybe once a year because we have tons of events that already put credits out there.

Edit: If people were running user made events as much as they used to be I might be more interested in more credits. But as it's been there's hardly any user tournaments or anything anymore. I remember when you had to wait for approval because there were 10 running already and that was the max allowed at one time.

Well, I don't want to take up any more of your time, Thank you for answering my questions as well as you can, and I hope you all consider some of the ideas I've put forward, there is huge potential, from what I can see.

Why host a tournament with credits as a prize when no one has anything left to spend credits on?

They'd be getting used for something and not just held on to. If people kept taking credits from events and running more events they're constantly getting recycled.

Like in '09 before I had a ton of credits I'd play in other people's tournaments and events so that I had credits to then turn around and run my own events using those credits.

Should probably just like..Lock the thread. Double credits obviously aren't coming back, and reasons have been explained. Personally, i would have liked them for events or something along those lines, but the points given have made me pretty content with the credit cap being removed lol.

No one said they definitely would never come back ever but it's not going to be some regular thing. That's what this thread felt like to me was wanting them frequently but overall that's just not a good idea.

Well it was indeed fun but i like the idea of having it pop up randomly and for a few days, if anything. There's plenty of ways to get credits if one really works for them.

I'd only like it to be used on a special occasion, specifically for FFR's anniversary, in which double credits can last a week.

Otherwise, just earn credits how they are or join a lot of tournaments and events.

I find it funny people are worrying about double credits putting too many creds into the FFReconomy, but have no complaints when millions of credits are being pulled out of nowhere for unofficial tourns just to give them some hype.

I personally think double credits should only be for people currently in an official tournament. That way it doesn't happen too often, and that players that are actively playing and wanting to get better. Consider it as this. You want double credits for that long? Don't get eliminated!
