Created an alt-account for one hand playing (it's reuben_OH). I still haven't played on it yet, but I'll be sure to use one hand when playing on that account (let's see if I can re-AAA excite bike now xD)

Do you use your thumb or pinky when playing 4-fingered? I've seen both used, but from what I understand using the thumb is more effective - korny (an insane 4-fingered one hander) used the numpad when doing four-fingered. He used the 4/6/8/0 keys, if I recall.

Thumb is definitely more effective, but I play with my pinky because it feels more fun to me.

Ahh, interesting. I know Irionman played that way, he was REALLY good at the game (he got Oni - something you should aspire to get with that style). He said hitting [3434] trills was a pain, though.

So I made my one hand account and had some fun with Ben going for one handed scores haha. Tried to see how far in difficulty I could AAA.

First AAA

Second AAA. This one took a lot of tries lol. BFed it a lot of times.

I LOL'd at this score. Wtf is this.

When I got this I was like D:

but then (level 5 AAA I think)

I was shocked to see I got this one sightread !_! (even though this is a 3 I find it more impressive then the others lol)

Couldn't get a 6 AAA. Not sure what the easiest 6 is. But here is a level 8 and 9 score I got. At this point I can't hit anything lol.

I just use my middle finger to hit both keys at the same time. Trust me, using two fingers to hit [23] jumps will **** up your ability to play songs above the 6-7 range or so. I should know - I did that for almost a year and a half starting from when I first began playing in earnest, and when I switched to hitting them with just one finger it was like getting a huge skill boost, especially in jumpstreams with lots of [23] jumps.

Hitting up-down trills is tough on raised keys - try using two fingers to hit them (index for down/middle for up). If you have a flat keyboard then just slide your middle finger up and down - it's what I do and it works on all but the fastest trills.

Hope these pointers are helpful.

I can't play one-handed like I used to because of my keyboard. I used to have a keyboard with thicker keys, which was important for me when I used the arrow keys. Now, the arrow keys on my laptop are really miniscule and don't respond well to simultaneous hits either.

Has anyone played four-fingered with one hand? That's how I always did it, even though the positioning is extremely cramped...

That sucks. When using laptops try using your numpad (if yours has one), and if that does not work try some of the letter keys.

Barring that, if you think it's worth the investment (maybe for spread) you can try and get a USB keyboard with normal-sized keys.

korny did - he used the numpad (2/4/6/0) and his thumb in addition to his index, middle and ring fingers. RB_Quackies did the same, and irionman did as well (he used his pinky though).
