Looks like FFR is getting a shiny new version of vBulletin. Excellent.

I think new stuff is great, but if it starts to cause problems...
That's the only reason I don't like huge updates and overhauls of layouts, because there's always a chance something will go wrong or not work right and then you're stuck figuring it out because you don't want to change it back.

I actually really hate the look of the new vbulletin but that's me. I don't really see what's wrong with the forums we have now they seem to have all the functionality we need. But I guess we'll see what happens.

No no, you're correct. The new vBulletin looks like balls. The kinda balls that you never want to see. Ever.

Is it more than just a themeing issue? Why can't we upgrade features and change the way it looks.

I've always liked phpBB more than vBulletin. Of course, I've never had any experience on the admin side of forum software.

phpBB is terrible.
I don't much like the new vB either, but the security and structure of it is much better.

Hope this upgrade gives the forums that "new forums" smell.

I would personally LOVE to change the blue color on the forums and change it to something more stylish like idk, black? The color of pretty much the whole website is boring imo, if we mix up Black and {insert color other than blue} then I think the website would look so much better than it does now.
For example: http://dragonsfury.forumotion.net/ Last edited by psychoangel691; 07-4-2011 at 11:00 AM.. |

This, judges on what I saw from the link/a quick browse. Not stylish at all.
If you want a stylish black, something like this is at least better http://www.phpbb.com/styles/demo/3.0/?style_id=60 I'm sure you can do every visual aesthetic the same way for a vbull forum though. Either way black doesn't feel fitting for this site really. But neither does the off white with the blue, personally. Something else is worth a try. http://www.phpbb.com/styles/demo/3.0/?style_id=1050 ^Pretty bad in my opinion still (I mean plain noise for a background, wat) but a step closer??? Could always, of course, allow different themes to be chosen.
