Oh yeah. I think I saw this kind of surgery on that show How It's Made, on the Discovery Channel or something.

It kind of caught me off guard because I was half-watching it and they were like "This is how they make bread" and then all of a sudden it was "And now we cut the eye open" and I'm like "WTF?!?!"

The first video managed to keep my hand in front of my mouth the entire time. The second one not so much. I'm sure if they had the sounds of the actual operation it would be so much worse. I guess I'll settle with my vision 'cause I'm not having that done.

They have a 99.8% success rate if you're a good candidate. The .2% comes from a botched initial lens opening which, with a good doctor, results in a rescheduling to try again later.
