Japanese Dude

DONE! After a bunch of edits, I am finally satisfied with the end result. Thanks for all of the crits! Can you believe that I've posted this on dA and even conceptart.org and I didn't even get critique when I wanted it!

The final version have went through changes that includes: Adding more contrast to the skin, fixing the ears, adjusting the hair, removing the hair from the left eye, making the eyes smaller, editing the lips, redoing the hand COMPLETELY, removing button, and editing his chin just a tad. I never would have changed any of this had it not been for your comments: Thanks to all!

I think his ears look a tad funky.

check your light source the shadows look a bit made up. More contrast good over all

Absolutely amazing!
The only thing I can see that could be changed is the butterfly. The design on its visible wing is slightly bumpy and kind of pixelated around the white patchs' edges.

It looks like he only has 3 fingers. Looks like he's got no index finger, no thumb.

And they're held in an awkward position on top of that.

The light source is front of him.
Pixelated butterfly wing is not in full resolution (I up-ed the sharpness when it shrunk to gain lost detail)
He's holding the butterflies wings in between his index and middle finger. I will add more indication of his index finger.

So nothing's wrong with his face? xDD
I used this for reference but I added a lot of my own elements to make it my own character.

Oi, as mentioned fingers are freaky, the ears are very subtle, so they could either be more defined or hidden more.

To add on, the smiley patch doesn't seem to fit in to me, but that may just be me.

*edit* ah...maybe something about the eyebrows. His right one seems to extend to far, if anything. Then the contrast between the two may be a bit much, his right is bold and black while the left is vaguely transparent and redish.

his shirt is priceless haha. fingers would be the only flaw i see that is obvious to the un-artistic mind

The idle fingers still sorta look like they're in an uncomfortable position...I had to strain to get my ring finger to bend exactly like that

Extend too far? The eyebrow extends beyond the edge of your eye. What do you mean?
Also, I'll take away the red from the left one.

I think maybe I thought the eyebrow was long because there wasn't a clearly defined end of it, but that's a subtlety that won't affect much.

If you love the button, you can keep it, it is your work, you're allowed creative inflections.

I was very impressed with the original work, and it only keeps getting better. You've got some major talent my friend.

The index addition is great, but the ring and pinky are still in an awkward position. I wouldn't say that it's necessarily at odds with anatomy, it's just that it's not a very natural looking pose.

To me, the gap between the lips seem odd, but it's an amazing portrait. It's very realistic.

The whole portrait looks funny. Only because it looks like "pineapple girl."

But in all honesty, I think the face seems too big for some reason. I think it may have something to do with the right side of his neck. Not quite sure. The nose seems really thick, eyes are okay, and lips seem strange. I think it's the gap on both sides of his lips. I agree with Afro about the pinky as well. Maybe make it a little longer or thinner at its base. But altogether, looks like Andili. Looks good.
