lolol, ya, optimum scores are like almost un-obtainable.

I think the only one where theyve actually gotten it is Yes We Can, if I'm not mistaken.

I FC'd 18 and Life today, for my 15th FC. halfway done!

One is by Metallica.

Heh I just started playing on hyper speed to see what is so great about it and I actually improved ALOT. I got some 5-stars on Less Talk More Rokk, Push Push (Lady Lightning), and Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart.

beyond gaining star power, i don't even bother with the whammy bar. it seems like such a waste of time and i never noticed a change in score. also, what do you mean by "squeezing?"

Squeezing = getting an extra note or two in a star power activation by hitting early/activating late. Essential for optimalizing.

And lol @ not whammying, play me in PF without whammying and I could probably beat an FC with a -20 run.

I don't use the whammy bar on the short notes of PF cause my hand is to slow to move from the whammy bar to the strum bar back and forth that fast. Also, why I can't use the select button yet =[.

i never claimed to be a god at guitar hero, im not even all that good, i can't 5 star pf much less fc it.

is there an algorithm for how whammying effects your score? i never noticed any difference beyond giving you more star power...

personally, i like how it's more or less impossible to "AAA" guitar hero songs. makes it more fun when you think there's always a way to improve your score.

whammying effects your score by giving you star power.

How is that any more obvious.

Whammying non-star power notes:
a. let's you practice your reaction time and whammy-strum
b. can prepare you for a quick whammy that may be coming up (specially on the 360 cuz of delayed whammy)

well obviously i whammy whenever it gives me more star power. it sounded as if shash was implying that it made a difference otherwise, such as making the held points go up faster.

I whammy simply for effect on long holds. My friends are convinced you get bonus points when you whammy, even though I've beaten them in a face-off, allowing them to whammy, and myself not whammying.

I hate it when people whammy long notes

especially in multiplayer, they distort the sound for no reason

I dont do it with wreckless abandon. There are some holds that sound better when whammyed, others that sound okay, and others that sound down right horrible. I only ever whammy ones that sound better (First sustain in LTMR, Many of the sustains in Freebird, things that are already distorted enough that whammying adds to it.)

I whammy notes I feel need vibrato (for the meadlies) and occasionally for distortion (in the squeadlies).

But then there's stuff like SCoM where the cover player is on the flat side anyway and it just sounds like ****.

5*ed BatH today I'm starting to get more alt-strum control. My shredding ability has gone way down, though, as I haven't really played seriously for a couple of weeks and the only stuff I have played is crap like TLTB.

It's really good.

I haven't tried that on hyper speed yet but I think I can get close.

Shash posted how to beat Jordan awhile back. I tried it and amazingly it did work, but I had a really ****ty score.
