Default jTWG XXXI: Vampires in Central America

The Prince of Dallas has asked that you go into the wilderness to locate and bring down a group of Mage Technocrats. The mansion is located in the ruins of an Aztec temple, though it's exact location was unknown. Your team of 12 was loaded into a Chinook helicopter and transported after sundown to the region. An hour and a half into the trip, over a wooded area a loud explosion rocked the helicopter. After shaking off the rough landing you all find each other by the crash site, the pilot was killed in the crash.

As the first night unfolds each person locates an individual cave for shelter from the sun. While searching for safe haven travman301 notices that a perimeter is formed by totems that resemble Native-American style, causing intense pain when the perimeter is broken. When the news is brought to the group, vashthestampede0987 says "The werewolves in this region are Native American..." "Worse still, we weren't struck by anything, the rear-propeller was rigged with explosives," says kentbball . Aito suggests, "this smells like a trap, get the weapons we brought ready, there are traitors among us!"

A meeting is held before sun-up on the first night. Heavylee finds 2 notes written on cloth from the helicopter. She reads: "We of the Tremere clan, sent by the Regent of Dallas, offer our allegiance to the group, by providing this ebony stake. After it is embedded into the chest of a supernatural, rose thorns dig into the victim and paralyze them for 12 hours. Wounds from the thorns are supernatural and permanent. We hope this will aid in our quest to find and kill the wolves in our midst."

The second note reads "We Assamites among you offer assurance of your trust in us with this ritual, one of identification. Each of 5 members of the circle must concentrate their thoughts on one single person in the group, and their soul is free to explore."
At the council it is agreed that each night characters will cast a vote for another character, the character with the most votes will be staked with the ebony stake and left for the sun. Those that survive the sun are proven to be werewolves and must be killed. Unfortunately for those Cainites (vampires) who meet the sun, they also meet their final death. Regarding the Assamite ritual, the 5 members of the group are to be decided by members of the 15, in a second vote.

ST: Any player who does not understand any aspect of the game please feel free to PM or AIM me with any questions at any time. I will do my best to clarify the functions of the parts of the game that aren’t clear, to the best of my ability and with regard to those mechanics of the game you are not made aware of intentionally. Items may be passed from player to player, and any player murdered by the red team will lose their item to the red team, likewise, after a lynching, items will be dropped to the ground as the corpse turns to dust at sunrise.

For the identification ritual, if the players can come to an agreement on who will be participating, those in the group will send me a PM, the majority focus will be "seered" and all 5 people will receive the result. Otherwise, the group can "choose" to have 5 randomly selected.

IT IS NOW DAY 1 ALL PEOPLE WHO CAN AND WANT TO TAKE A DAY ACTION SEND ME THEIR PM DAY ENDS IN 24 HOURS

day posting is OFF!!!

PS: on the bottom of the Chinook you find a crate as big as this table. Just kidding, obligatory inside host joke. LOL @stoic

vampires don't kill necessarily, they provide second life. Its a gift not an action.

Canonically that is.

Assamite - 3 Assamite clan vampires, all know each other. Possess a hatred for the clan Tremere (masons)

Conditions - Tremere win 100% if they kill all werewolves and outnumber the Assamites. 50% if they just survive. Likewise for Assamites vs. Tremere.

Caitiff Vampire (6) - Win 100% if they survive to all wolves' deaths.
Count that all up and theres 15 roles. We only have 12 players. How was the game modified to fit having 12 players?

What was taken out?

i removed 3 caitiff vampires and added numerous methods of seering, though they are somewhat convoluted and not intuitive. I assure you that you are all capable of figuring them out eventually.

#3. At one point, posting in a game thread you weren't playing on saw the removal of you from the entire subforum.

MK I hope you all got that outta your systems.

Day 1 has ended. As the group comes together for the second meeting during the night, mattc16 doesn't show up. A group of you visit his cave, and find a pile of what used to be mattc16 in his cave.

It is now night 1 mattc is dead. Night 1 ends monday night at 11:59:58(6/4/07).

Pnt, plz refrain from posting in this thread.

Please do not edit posts.

Edu stick to making worthless posts in the TWG game.

Finally, please do not post during the day. There is a reason why day posting is off, its not just because I'm anal.

Further clarification on the ritual of seering. The group must willingly put in all 5 people, and if someone contests a spot in the circle at all, all 5 will be chosen randomly. This will taint the effectiveness of the ritual in that the test group won't be set by the players. Sure it works for the wolves to contest the circle, but if they keep doing it, it becomes apparent who they are. This is essentially to help outline where peoples loyalties lie, or to help create false images (game tip #1).

Also questioned was that when the 5 are selected how is the result determined? Answer: the majority vote (through PM) will have their results turned in for all 5 members in the circle. so if person A gets 2 votes the rest get 1, then person A's identity is returned to the 5, this knowledge is then in their hands for whatever they want to use it for. Players should work out who they are going to focus on(pm) before they negotiate their spot in the circle, but they are free to focus on whoever they want (game tip #2).

Alright, we can post now right? One more question, when do we vote on the 5 for the circle? Ps, everyone I am busy all day, moving my grandmother's furniture then taking the bus to Fredericton. So I won't be on for awhile.

Apparently EVERYONE has to come to some kind of a consensus by the time the day is over as to who the 5 will be and if there is any competition he picks 5 at random. x3r0's reasoning is that "people who contest for a spot look wolfish." I assume seering happens in the day as usual, and the result is sent to each of the 5.

So do we want the same 5 as "seers" each day or do we want a rotation? I'm assuming the 5 must choose someone outside of that circle to scan, so if wolves hop on the "seer circle" permanently they're basically immune to scanning, so I don't know about that idea.

Also, I need someone with experience to tell me if this is a good plan: If someone is confirmed by the seer ritual to be blue (mason), he should come out and reveal his fellow masons to narrow down the human pool that much?

Trying to be productive, hell if I know if I'm doing it right.

Well, Isn't there something with different clans who are blue? Therefore wouldn't they not want to come out to everyone. I'm not sure if I completely understand this. I think everyone wants to keep who they are a secret except caitiffs, but I may be wrong. That is my opinion on this game, the five in the circle will know who is who, but they won't find their partners.
