Because the better you look while moving only your fingers the better you'll do.

I play one-handed, and I can FC very-difficult songs at an ease, so I guess it is practice.. Your hand(s) just need to get used to the speed/amount of arrows.. If they don't get used to it, your hands will tire out fast on some songs..

If you're trying to be good at StepMania, I'd suggest using the keys A, S, L, and semicolon. A for left, S for down, L for up, and semicolon for right. It's more comfortable. It takes a bit to get used to, but you'll find it helpful on StepMania.
