Default Flash in Linux

Anyone who's tried flash in browsers in Linux will probably know that it's very slow. When I say slow, I mean the music is about 10 seconds earlier than the video. Yeah, that slow. This makes it pretty much impossible to play games like FFR. I heard using Opera helps, but not enough to make FFR playable.

I've searched websites online. Can't find a solution. They say it's a known bug that flash is extremely slow, and it doesn't appear to be something Macromedia is focused on fixing, goddammit. Tried some solutions that were said to speed it up a little bit.. adding a line to the browser's script file... Didn't do a thing at all.

So basically this thread is for anybody who knows how to fix it, but mostly for me to complain. -_- Goddamn stupid flash being slow in Linux. I hate flash that way.

I doubt there will be any solutions posted here, and probably some n00bs going "wuts linx?" but it was worth a shot I guess.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. MM are planning to release a Linux version of the Flash IDE. Maybe they plan to also improve the Linux Flash players performance.

I'm no Linux user (or fan) but the plan is to get it working in Wine (which is a Windows emulator, I think). So I don't think it's full native Linux support... then again, I have no idea.

Here's a short article on News.com about it.

Cheers...

Wine = Wine Is Not an Emulator.

And read twice, I said "FOCUSED". That means they're not working very hard on it. I'm sure they'll fix it eventually, but for now... no workie.

No. I dual-boot WinXP and Gentoo. When Gentoo is working, that is. -_-

Then stop your bitching!

Why would they want to spend time on it? Linux is just a toy.

*runs for cover*

I'm not bitching. And if you think Linux is a toy, fine. Won't stop me from trying to use it.

Linux is an OS. An open source one, I might add.

Generally, Linux > Windows. It has a few flaws though, the biggest of which is that a lot of programs aren't compatable.
