Yeah, I still like to play pokemon games more then any other games. I have pretty much all of them. I don't play most of them though.

I remember when I first found out the cheat on the Red and Blue versions. And got infinite Rare Candy.

I wasted the cheat on master balls, even though it was so easy to catch pokemon just pressing Up and A when the poke-ball closed.

Edit: What a weak 700th.

I got Pokemon Ranger, hoping it would be as fun and addictive as Mystery Dungeon.

It wasn't.

Yep, I still play the games and I still have all my old card collection too. I do like how the show's story isn't so complex that you need to watch every episode to get what's going on, because if there's nothing else on I'll just watch an episode or two. Not too long ago they were playing episodes from the original season.... Don't know if they are still.

I saw Ranger in the store the other day and debated getting it even though I had no idea what it was. What's the basic point of it?

I didn't like Mystery Dungeon all that much. I don't like most of the newer Pokemon games.

Most of us don't, but I heard Mystery Dungeon was REALLY bad. The gaming magazine I read gave it a 1.2/5, and that's the only time I've seen that rating.

Red+Blue were a lot of fun in their time. Then Nintendo went nuts and it was too hard to keep up. I think they should have stuck with that Red+Blue, and then with every new game, just improve the graphics but keep the same gameplay, and even allow the players to xfer all their stuff over.

Hm, I haven't heard that Tosh, but then again I never really looked up reviews.

There was a thread about it in TGB a while back, started by Charlotte, I believe. We all obsessed over it for a bit. I loved the game honestly, and couldn't play anything else for a while when I was into it. >_> Only complaint really is that it is somewhat repetitive, and it's not like any other Pokemon game (it's really just a classic Mystery Dungeon game with Pokemon slapped on ^^; ).

Plus I liked how loyal your partner was, T_T it's cute. Even if the rest of the story is kinda dumb, I liked it anyway.

As for Pokemon Ranger... you have to capture them in this weird way by circling them a few times on the touchscreen with the stylus. Once you do, they follow you around, and you can use their ability in the field to get past obstacles. Once you do, they leave. They also leave when you enter a town, so you never get to keep any Pokemon other than your original partner.

You can catch every Pokemon, including legendaries... just not the first time you meet them.

The storyline has you fight a bunch of legendaries as bosses. You can't catch them then, but once you beat the main storyline, there's a whole bunch more crap you can do, including going back and catching those legendaries.

Pokemon Ranger is the worse game in existence. I played it for less than an hour and I want to sell it.

I'm looking forward to Pearl and Diamond, I'll admit, though.

Stupid question, but after Gold and Silver, I got Ruby and Sapphire. Am I missing any? What's different about FireRed and LeafGreen?

I know that Crystal was released in the U.K (Game Boy colour), but i can't remember if it was after or before ruby and sapphire.

To be honest i've always had a soft spot for pokemon. Always have, always will. I think that towards they end they ran out of ideas though. Gold and Silver were great, but then i think that they just started to over complicate things.

Yeah, there was a whoooole lot of crap in Ruby and Sapphire that I never even thought of using. All those damn useless berries, all those PokeBlocks for contests, ugh, I just wanna play Pokemon. Sure, I tried all of them, but I just hated 'em. After 1st and 2nd generation, it just went downhill. Hopefully some things will be removed and not replaced in the new version, but then again, knowing the creators, they'd probably add MORE for the younger kids just getting into Pokemon, who will love it for all of its features. Ugh, I hate this crap.

Red and Blue were pretty fun. My friend completed the pokedex on his 10th birthday and I remember thinking it was completely epic.
Yellow was my favorite.
Gold and Silver were no better but no worse. It was a task to remember all the new critters, but it was managable, and the gameplay was a bit better.

Then Pokemon died. I have no love for the 437th pokemon

Apparently, the human brain holds up to around 250 of a similar type of information very well, then it craps out. Stupid for them to go over 250 pokemon is you ask me.
