Who suggested paying 100$ for shoes that last a year? All I know is that I suggested shoes that cost 65$ that would last for years. Vans are good shoes, they look good, and they're comfortable.

And by the way, this is coming from a person who has been using cheap shoes the majority of his life: Cheap shoes suck ass. They usually don't last me longer than 1 year (the stitching and things tend to break within weeks of buying them) or about half a year if I skate in them.

As for the Pumas, I've heard good things, but I stand by Vans.

Yea I usually buy two pairs of shoes. One pair for skateing the other pair for everything else. I go through my skate shoes in like 2 months. Im rocking Globes at the moment. I give 'em another month.

About the high price breaking thing:

Bought the best brand of sandals possible and did regular spring / summer use on them for a year. A week into the following summer when I brought them out of hibernation, they were busted. Of course, I had a lifetime warranty on them, but they're NOT supposed to break. As a side note on that, I did make good on that warranty and got another pair which have yet to fail me.

And concerning cheap shoes, I've just always thought paying more than $10 for a pair of shoes was a waste of money. I usually get five years out of a pair of Wal-Mart sneakers. I honestly don't think people are ever going to look at your shoes in everyday life, so what you wear is absolutely irrelevant. Kinda why I go to job interviews with the nice shirt, nice pants, and then sneakers. Nobody would notice anyway.

Yeah get skateboarding sneakers. They're roomy and comfortable. Vans/Etnies/DC/Osiris/whatever.

The basketball shoes...ehh. Tass got a new pair a couple years ago and the stuffing is falling out, and he got a newer pair for his Eurotrip and they're already messed up less than 3 weeks later.

On the other hand, my old Vans from 10th grade still fit like a glove and only look a little frayed. I love those things. I highly recommend the Vans, and they come in enought colors and styles to make even the most discerning of shoppers happy, as well as most of them being well under $80.

Yeah, if you're going for vans, you can save a little more money and get old schools.


Looks about the same at first glance to the ones I posted before. Just cheaper.

And not as good for skateboarding, so naturally, they're in general not as good shoes.

Pumas or Adidas are the nicest looking shoes I have ever seen that ar really comfotable and actually have style.

Try checking those out first for a good look and comfort.

I'm surprised that this took so long.

Anyway, I don't give a **** about what the shoes look like. I am looking for something that gives me lots of comfort, so that all the eight hour shifts I put in (during which I am standing and walking or worse the entire time) are a bit easier on my feet. At the same time I need these shoes to be able to put up with the rigor of anything I am likely to throw at them.

And I have no problem spending $100+ on these things. Anyone who frequently works long shifts completely on their feet should understand why I am willing to spend so much.

I think I will look into the shoes that ap suggeted. And to all you who recommended skater shoes, all I can say is lol

They're the best shoes there are in terms of comfort and general performance.

You might also want to look into the newer nursing sneakers. I bought a pair for work--they look just like regular sneakers, but they have extra arch support and stuff inside that makes them uber-comfortable for my 10-hour shifts.

A lot of them are white, and a lot of them are retarded-looking, but you can find some decent ones.

I had a pair of Adidas that held up for about a year and a half. (Under extreme duress, I assure you) the only problem was that they kept on coming untied so I had to buy better shoelaces.
