Simfile Warehouse. Comments? Suggestions?

So we decided to re-release our simfile section last night. LD worked very hard coding this section this week and I think he did an excellent job.

For those wondering, this section is here to stay. We don't intend to make it seasonal or take it down when BMS comes back up. The simfile section is just another way that we are trying to contribute to the Bemani community.

The purpose of this thread is to answer questions and take suggestions or comments that will allow us to improve.

We would appreciate it if you could spread the word and get people uploading so that we can get this section as active as possible. Since last night we have already had 60+ uploads but hope to accelerate that number.

It stops the "omg BMS is down where 2 get simfiles" threads, and that's a good thing.

Well I already sent some suggestions to LD, stuff like add a comment box and when you click on the Submittor's name it goes to their simfiles, but LD already seems to be working on these. Another thing you should add is more edit features in the manage place so I can change the description I put for my simfile or maybe reupload the zip if I found something wrong with it. There is also a bug with the sort feature at the bottem, it only works on the first page, when you change pages it just resets back to date.

Thanks for the simfile section, again. I haven't had time to find things other than what Omegix pointed out (comment box and artist search feature). So far, its worked good for me. Keep up the good work.

I'd like to see this because this system doesn't use HTML, and i'd like to see if any tags would work of some kind.

Before we hit submit, hit a preview like a post. We can see what we have written and if it looks good.

Yea that sounds really good, also (don't know if you fixed this yet) stop the people who just keep clicking the download button to raise their downloads, so I stay on the top :P.

Yeah, we control that and even count how many times a person has downloaded a single file and will auto-ban or auto-limit them if they are over a certain limit on downloading their own file. Databases are wonderful things.

That could happen if you gave it a comment sheet.

I think just by seeing who voted it, and if everyone can see it, will be worth it. BMS doesn't let the downloader see who voted for it, so we should have it public.

Suggestions:

Artist profile page with simfiles that he/she has uploaded, and a way to click the persons name who uploaded it and also transfer yourself to their profile page.

Search button with -

Artist
Uploader
Song
Difficulty
BPM with two sections to type in. If there are no BPM changes, leave the other section alone.

Drop down menu for genre of steps, as in BMS file, SM/DWI file, and any other simulator for finding other sorts of sims.

In the Manage area, I think it would be cool to show a little stats.

Like maybe Total Downloads, Average Rating, and stuff.

Did I mention that LD is a PHP god?

The cool thing about having a guy like him around is that way we don't have to rely on sub-par postnuke modules. LD, you should recode the site. : )
